Service & Repair

Problems with your PowerLaser, SmartCharger or batteries?

Having trouble with your device?

Here are a few simple steps you can try yourself before sending your PowerLaser or accessories in for service.

If your batteries won’t charge

1. Does the green light turn on?

When the SmartCharger is connected to an AC adapter that is plugged into a wall socket, and the socket is switched on, the left side should show a constant green light.

– If not: Unplug the SmartCharger, plug it back in, and see if that makes a difference.

2. Insert the battery correctly.

When you insert a battery, press it down until it clicks into place.

– Does the SmartCharger then show a constant yellow light on the right (in addition to the green)? If not, go to step 4.

– While charging, the yellow light is constant. Charging normally takes 2–3 hours.

3. Check if charging is complete.

When the battery is fully charged, the yellow light will start blinking.

– The green light should remain constant the whole time. Do both of these things happen?

4. If there is no yellow light:

Leave the battery in, unplug the SmartCharger, and plug it back in. Does the yellow light turn on now?

– If yes, let the SmartCharger finish charging.

5. If both green and yellow lights are blinking:

– Go to step 4. It may be necessary to repeat this cycle 2–3 times before the SmartCharger continues a normal charging cycle of 2–3 hours.

6. Is it all batteries, or just one?

– If the problem only affects one battery, that battery may be defective.

7. Look inside the SmartCharger.

– Do you see 3 golden pins? (There should be 3 – if you only see 2, there is a fault.)

8. Are you using the correct adapter?

– Make sure you are using the AC adapter (USB plug) that came with the SmartCharger.
